Student, Scout & Community Programs

Let the Student Health Awareness Center help you with the health education needs of your students, Scouts or other youth groups. Field trips can be arranged at your convenience. The only one of its kind in the state, the Student Health Awareness Center educates approximately 20,000 students (pre-K through 12th grade) annually through more than 65 different age-appropriate programs.
Student Programs
Our classes are designed to supplement and enhance the school curriculum, and help schools meet New Jersey state mandates and Core Curriculum Content Standards for Health and Physical Education. Groups of up to 55 children can be accommodated in each of the two classrooms, where Substance Awareness, Family Life, General Health and Character Education topics are addressed.
Scout Programs

In addition to school programs, the SHAC offers programs to help Scouts fulfill badge and try-it requirements while learning important life lessons. Programs for Junior Scouts, Brownies, and Boy/Cub Scouts are offered based on their descriptions in the Scout handbooks.

Some of the requirements may need to be completed at the troop/den level. Badges are not provided by the center, but each Scout will be awarded a specially designed "Student Health Awareness Center" patch.
