Growing Up
Introduction to the physical, social and emotional changes that accompany puberty.
Girls Grow Up (ages 9-12 and a parent)
Boys Grow Up (ages 10-13 and a parent)
Girls 4 Real (ages 11-13 and a parent)
Are you true to yourself or are you just following the crowd? This class focuses on the impact that the media and society have on young girls’ self-image and confidence. Through interactive discussion, girls will learn how to develop a healthy sense of self and how to recognize characteristics of high and low self-esteem. They’ll come away with a better understanding of the pressures young girls face in today’s fast-paced society, and what they can do about it.
GPS for Parents…Navigating Your Daughter's Teen Years
This class is for parents of pre-teen and young teenage girls.Provides a sneak peak into the social realities that exist in the world of girls.Addresses issues of self-esteem, body image, cliques, and what we as parents can do to navigate these turbulent years.
Gateway to Trouble
For parents and children in grades 5-8. Don't buy into the "Not in my town" mentality! Younger and younger kids are using readily available drugs. This program focuses on education and prevention, and covers the dangers of "gateway drugs," including alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, inhalants and prescription drugs.
Babysitting Series
Boys and girls ages 11-16 learn the fundamentals of caring for children, safety precautions, minor first aid skills, and how to look for a job.
CPR for Sitters
Available as an adjunct to our Babysitting class, or separately, this 3-hour class covers CPR for infants, young children and adults. Each participant receives a two-year certification. Appropriate for ages 12-16. Discount if taken in conjunction with Babysitting class.
